Kansas State University Division of Communications and Marketing is searching for two (2) experienced and creative Video Producer/Directors to join our staff.

The Division of Communications and Marketing (DCM) provides strategic communications and marketing leadership for the University. Our results-oriented team of experienced and talented professionals is responsible for helping the university to communicate with "one-voice" – on all campuses - statewide, nationally, and worldwide, in deeply-rooted support of the university’s mission and values.
The Producer/Director serves as a video producer, director, videographer and non-linear editor on a wide variety of marketing, promotional, and informative videos for Kansas State University. Distribution of videos includes network and regional television broadcasts, web, other social media, and international outlets. This position works closely with other staff video producer/directors at the DCM in addition to university administration, faculty, staff, students, and external clients. This position reports to the Director of Video Production Services.
Originates and/or evaluates media projects from initial concept to finished product. Designs formats, treatments, scripts and time lines for media productions with minimal supervision.
Working within an agency model coordinates with other DCM units and university departments. Initiates paperwork and resource requests, and provides program/project information to others to ensure completion within budget and on time while satisfying client expectations. Provide status reports to direct supervisor, VPCM, clients and client managers.
Create production budgets, timetables and other necessary papwerwork and obtain approvals from internal and external clients.
Ensure all production procedures, budgets, treatments, talent releases and contracts, copyright clearances, and related materials are completed or cleared and all other appropriate paperwork meets DCM and university policies.
Schedule, convene and mediate pre-production meetings and post-production evaluations to determine client satisfaction, product effectiveness, and efficiency. Share this information with stakeholders and others within the division to improve future products.
- Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of four years' professional experience in video production
- Video production skill sets and experience including; client based video projects, Proficiency in single-camera videography, Proficiency in non-linear editing, and Excellent aesthetic judgment demonstrated through work samples.
- 8 years' of professional experience in video production
- Previous university video production experience
- Video/TV script writing
- Experience Premiere Pro and/or Avid NLE editing, After Effects and Photoshop, and Post Production audio mixing.
- Experience with remote truck multi-camera directing, lighting, and audio for both in-studio and on-location.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
Compensation package will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and range from $45,000 - $54,000 annually.
