Lectures will include a discussion on several ophthalmic conditions in dogs, cats, and horses and current treatment recommendations. The wet lab will demonstrate current diagnostic techniques used to perform a complete ophthalmic examination and allow participants to gain experience using diagnostic equipment in horses. The surgical wetlab will allow participants to perform a grid keratotomy, wedge resection, Hotz-celsus procedure, modified Morgan pocket technique for repair of a prolapsed gland of the third eyelid, and a transconjunctival enucleation on cadavers.
