Captain Ford began his military career in Dec 1994 at Dallas Texas Military Entrance Processing Center. Upon graduating 12 weeks of "US Army Basic Training", he was directly assigned to Fort Carson. While assigned at Fort Carson he took on duty as the Sergeant of the Guard for a 500+ bed Combat Support Hospital. After two and a half years he then attended Advanced Infantry School at Fort Benning Georgia along with various other special training courses for a total of seven months. After training he was then reassigned to Ft Riley Kansas 1 1/16th Infantry. There he was a small team leader in. This is where his transition from the Army to Air Force would take place. Capt Ford desired to become an officer and at the same time seized the opportunity to transfer to the Air Force. After two years of ROTC he was commissioned as a 2Lt Transportation Officer at Pope AFB NC. There he worked air and ground transportation. He was selected to stand up the first ground Transportation (convoy) in Iraq. His career field merged into what is now known as the LRO. This opened the way for his assignment to NATO. While in NATO (Geilenkirchen Germany, Capt Ford was the Supply Mgt & Systems Branch Chief. His duties included frequent TDYs to various countries to perform inspections. While in Germany he was selected to deploy into Israel where he was embedded with the Israeli forces. After his duties there he then applied and was accepted for his current position here at Kansas State.
