Create a photo gallery

Upload album to the web

Once your album is created, it's time to upload it to the web.

Upload album to your Gmail account

1. In Picasa, select the album you want to make into a gallery. Go to Tools > Upload > Upload to Web Albums.

2. Enter your Gmail username and password to sign in.

3. In the Size to upload drop-down menu, make sure Recommended: 1600 pixels is selected.

4. Choose the circle next to Public Album, and then click the Upload button.

Create SimpleViewer gallery

The SimpleViewer gallery will display your photo albums on your K-State website.

1. In Picasa, choose the album you would like to appear on your K-State website.

2. Select all images inside the album; you can shift-click to select multiples.

3. In the menu bar, go to Folder > Export as HTML Page.

4. By default, the picture size should be set to 640 pixels (for Web pages). If it's not, click the circle for 640 pixels.

5. For the page title, enter a word or phrase with the following criteria: short, lowercase, and no spaces (i.e., admissions).

6. Click Next.

7. In the Select a Web Page Template window, choose SimpleViewer, followed by Finish.

8. The photos from your album will be placed into a web gallery and shown in a new browser window. Captions previously added to your Picasa album will be displayed in the SimpleViewer gallery but can be changed later in the .xml file.

Upload gallery files to your K-State website

1. Locate the folder you created in My Documents\Picasa HTML Exports\nameoffolder. Double-click to open the folder Picasa generated for you; it will have the same title as the page title you entered for the SimpleViewer gallery.

2. Locate the filed named index.html. Delete only this file, and then close the folder.

Create Album

Connect to the server using WinSCP

1. If you have not yet done so, set up your WinSCP to connect to the server.

2. To create a new folder for your directory, click Ctrl+D and name the folder "gallery." If you already have a "gallery" folder, open it by double-clicking on the folder.

3. In Windows locate the folder My Documents\Picasa HTML Exports\nameoffolder from which you deleted the index.html file, and drag the folder into the "gallery" folder.

4. The files will now upload.
