build a new page

Overview of Contribute's user window

Your new page will look very much like the following illustration.

 

  1. Pages panel
    Displays the pages being edited by the user as well as the link back to the main browser.
     
  2. Page being edited
    The highlighted page is currently being displayed on the right.
     
  3. Back to browser
    This lets you leave the pages you are editing to browse the net through Contribute. To return to the in-progress pages, click on one in the "pages panel."
     
  4. Publish button
    Publishes the page straight to the web This is only accessible if allowed by your office's permissions.
       
  5. Send for review button
    Sends page to reviewer to be doublechecked before publishing.
       
  6. Save for later button
    Saves an in-progress version of a draft, even after the program is exited. Very useful when interrupted during work.
     
  7. Cancel button
    Permanently cancels a draft of a page.
     
  8. Insert link
    Creates a link to another webpage, to information within a page, or to an e-mail address.
     
  9. Insert image
    Places a picture into the current document, either from your computer or the web.
     
  10. Insert table
    Inserts a table into the document.
       
  11. Style menu
    Choose a preset style for text.
       
  12. Create numbered list
     
  13. Create bulleted list
     
  14. Top navigation bar
     
  15. Left navigation
     
  16. Topic name
    Displays the name of the topic you are currently working on, repeated from the navigation bars.
     
  17. Image area
    This area of the page houses three panels of images. You can insert art or photos here.
     
  18. Content area
    Area where body type and/or images will be inserted.
     
  19. Bottom navigation
