University General Education: Benefits & Responsibilities

To be truly effective in life and in a career, each student must seek a breadth of education that reaches far beyond the course work specifically designed for a major. University General Education increases the opportunity students have at Kansas State University to get the most from their education.

Students must take responsibility, in consultation with their academic advisors, to determine which courses and experiences meet the UGE requirements of particular degree programs. Students and advisors should consider carefully which courses and experiences will be best to help explore new ideas and balance the specific focus of a major with the rest of the world of knowledge.
