About the Program Host

The Kansas Center for the Book is affiliated with the National Center for the Book in 1987, and was hosted and headquartered at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library from then until 2005, when it moved to the State Library of Kansas. It is now a non-profit, tax-exempt program of the State Library. The KCB generously provide names and contact information for many of the featured children’s authors on our programming.

Beverley Olson Buller: Beverley Olson Buller had a mother who read to her and a father who knew she'd someday write a book. He was right! Late in her long career as a teacher and librarian, her first book was published--and she's been writing for kids ever since. She has since then written two books which have both received Kansas Notable Book designation. Purchas her book...
