Principle 3   SIMPLE AND INTUITIVE USE

Understanding how to use the design is easy, regardless of the user's experience, knowledge, language skills, or concentration level.

These products are NO more complicated than necessary, and put NO users at a DISadvantage. They are about what you would expect (or can figure out), and usable whether OR NOT you speak or read the language used in the directions. The products also give clues to help users know they’re on the right track during and after completing the task.

For example:

  • Door with peep-holesDoor with peep-holesThe full-length ENTRY DOOR SIDELIGHT and varied-height PEEP-HOLES DON’T disadvantage or stigmatize any group of users, but DO provide security that's especially good for small children, tall adults, and older folks.

  • The 'CUDDLE TUB' is a molded plastic shell with hammock insert and head cushions that provide safety and security for an infant. Its design allows a parent to use one or both hands to bathe the baby.
