Principle 2
FLEXIBILITY IN USE
The design supports a wide
range of individual preferences and abilities.
These items can be used correctly
and successfully in multiple ways. They are accessible, usable by both
left-and right-handed people, and can adapt to varied users' speeds.
For example:
The SMART POWER
HAND MIXER's handle design fits any hand size, and its swivel
cord makes the mixer convenient to use with either hand.

Henderson, Smart Design, Inc. for Cuisinart.
LARGE, MULTI-USE BATHROOM: Waterproof floor
with drain, plus faucet beside toilet allow for a roll-in shower or wet
room. The hand-held shower controls can be reached from the toilet,
allowing the user to bathe while seated. The bathtub has a built-in
ledge at one end to use as a shower seat or for transferring.
A hydraulic seat raises the user in and out of the tub.
