The Kansas State University Upward Bound Math and Science (UBMS)
Program is a federal program designed to create educational opportunities
for high school students from economically and/or educationally disadvantaged
backgrounds. UBMS prepares students for the successful completion
of secondary and postsecondary degrees that lead to careers in the
fields of math or science.
PROGRAM FOCUS

To ensure a timely and distinguished high school
graduation for each participant.

To raise competency in challenging subject matter
such as: mathematics, science, foreign language, technological applications,
scientific research and literature.

To assist participants in the scholarship, grants,
and financial aid process, and to ensure collegeadmissions.

To encourage students to pursue college programs
that lead to careers in the fields of mathematics and science.

To work with parents and communities to foster
the social, cultural, and academic growth of each participant.
