Emblems

The Pearl:
 |
The pearl was chosen to symbolize the new member because it
is the one jewel that grows, developing from a tiny nucleus into a
thing of value and beauty. As a new member you are the potential
strength and constant growth of our chapter. |
The Pine:
 |
The pine was chosen to represent the collegiate member. |
The Pansy:
 |
The pansy is symbolic of our alumnae and is the third step in
the lifetime development of Delta Delta Delta members. The pansy
suggests tenderness and friendship. |
New Member Pin:
 |
The pin has three open deltas inscribed within an open
delta and is executed in silver with green enamel. It is worn during
the introduction to membership but is returned to the chapter prior to
initiation. |
Trident:
 |
The silver Trident is used during the first degree of
initiation and is returned to the chapter at the Stars and Crescent
Degree of initiation. A gold Trident may be worn as a guard for the
Stars and Crescent badge. |
Stars And Crescent Badge:
 |
This is the official emblem worn by initiated
members of Delta Delta Delta, both collegiate and alumnae. The badge
consists of three stars, crown set with pearls, within a plain Roman
golden crescent of three hundred degrees bearing three deltas in black
enamel. Tri Delta initiates receive a Stars and Crescent badge with the
member's initials, the Greek letters of her chapter, and her chapter
initiation number engraved on the back. The badge belongs to Tri Delta
and is lent to each member during her lifetime or as long as she
remains a member. |

Distinguished Alumnae

Starting in 2005, Theta Iota began a new tradition of giving the "Theta
Iota Outstanding Alumna Volunteer Award." Joan Shull received the award
in 2005 for her unselfish devotion to Theta Iota, and for the vast
amount of time she invested into the chapter.
In 2006, Ann Carnahan received the award at our annual Founder's Day.
Ann Carnahan has served as a member of Theta Iota's house corporation for
three years and continues to serve today. She played a very vital role
during our summer 2006 renovation. We could not have done it with out
her. We greatly thank these two ladies for everything they have done
for us. Theta Iota wouldn't be what it is today without these women.
The History Of Our House

The Delta Delta Delta house was built in 1931 and is located at 1834
Laramie in Manhattan, KS.
Our Tri Delta home houses 73 girls. Among the many rooms of the house,
we have a dining room, formal room, social room, breakfast nook, the
lounge (where everyone can hang out and watch TV), study room, the rec,
chapter room, guest room, and a room for our house mother.
Our house mother, Karen Robbins, has been with us for 10 years. In spring
2004 she received the award, "Outstanding House Director" from Greek
Affairs. She does a wonderful job of taking care of us! She is our mom
away from home and a true friend to us all!!
Living in the Tri Delta House is a wonderful, unique experience for all
of the girls that live here. It is a place full of love, laughter, and
lots of Tri Delta memories!
