Submitted by Olivia Miller

Kansas State University's chapter of Golden Key, the international honor society, recognized two graduate assistants for their outstanding contributions during the 2012-2013 school year.

The chapter named Ximena Cibils Stewart, master's student in entomology the 2013 outstanding graduate research assistant of the year, and Emily Archer Slone, doctoral student in biology the 2013 outstanding graduate teaching assistant of the year.

Stewart and Slone were recognized at a reception for their achievements and the assets they bring to K-State.

Golden Key also recognized two other graduate students, Tammy Sonnentag, doctoral student in psychology, and Jared Pfeiffer, master's student in fine arts for the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools Excellence in Teaching Award.

The honor society recognizes and encourages academic achievement and excellence among college and university students in all academic disciplines and has more than 375 chapters in eight countries.
