Celebrate Earth Day with K-State

By Maggie Stephens

Celebrate Earth Day with K-State throughout the week at several events hosted by various organizations and departments across campus.

  • K-State’s annual Earth Day activities fair, sponsored by Students for Environmental Action, will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, April 22, on Bosco Student Plaza. Celebrate Earth Day by participating in fun, festive activities with a variety of student and local organizations.
  • Sponsored by office of sustainability, K-State EcoReps, office of the provost and the Division of Continuing Education, the K-State Earth Day Celebration will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at the Alumni Center. K-State students, faculty and staff have had another banner year in working to make K-State a more Earth-friendly campus. The event will celebrate these efforts and the progress that has been made.
  • The university’s second e-waste collection event will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, in the university parking lot D1, which is across from West Stadium and next to St. Isidore’s Catholic Student Center on Denison Avenue. Items accepted include computers, cell phones, printers, TVs, gaming consoles, VCRs, DVD players and more. The even it only for residential items; university and business e-waste won’t be accepted.
