A little 'Caffeine' for your Mac, so it doesn't go to sleep

Submitted by Eric Dover

Have you ever wanted to make sure that your Mac would not go to sleep on you during a presentation or in the middle of watching a webcast? A neat little free tool is available in the Mac App Store that does just that. The app is called Caffeine, and once installed it places a little empty coffee cup on the right side of the menu bar at the top of the screen.

When you want to prevent your Mac from going to sleep, just click on the empty cup and it "fills" with coffee indicating that your computer will not go to sleep. To restore the ability to sleep, simply click on the cup again and it will empty.

Thanks to Caffeine, there is no longer the need to alter power settings to prevent your Mac from going to sleep. If you are interested in giving it a try, go to https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/caffeine/id411246225?mt=12 and it will launch the App Store on your Mac.
