Open candidate forum for state and local office set for Friday

Submitted by Jake Unruh

Local and state candidates for office will be participating in an open forum on higher educational issues from noon-1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, in the K-State Student Union courtyard.

The forum is free and everyone is welcome to attend. Time for questions from the audience will be available. Candidates who will be attending include Kansas House of Representatives candidates Sydney Carlin, Tom Phillips and Aaron Estabrook; Kansas Senate candidates Tom Hawk and Bob Reader; and Riley County commissioner candidate Rod Harms.

The purpose of the forum is to engage students in local elections and help raise awareness for issues affecting K-State students and faculty today at a local level.
