Student-run KSDB radio station features local talent

Submitted by Vern Wirka

KSDB 91.9, The Wildcat, featured local musicians during a marathon broadcast in conjunction with the annual Aggiefest, Sept 28-29.

Some 125 selections -- all by local artists -- made up the musical rotation on KSDB for 43 hours of broadcast time during Aggiefest. KSDB was heard throughout Aggieville on the public address sound system during the festival. Many local musicians, painters and sculptors who participated in Aggiefest were interviewed on the air by KSDB students. KSDB students were on location at the festival providing live news coverage. The station's promotion department assisted Aggiefest organizers with publicity for the event.

KSDB is the only radio station in the Manhattan and Junction City market that regularly features local bands.
