Agricultural economics/seminar Oct. 5

Submitted by Hikaru Peterson

Bob Reagan, who worked with economists as the technical editor at the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank, is presenting a workshop/seminar on how to write well, primarily geared toward graduate students and faculty members in agricultural economics and economics.

The workshop/seminar will be 1:30-3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, in the Technology Classroom, 328 Waters Hall.

“There are several good reasons for starting with paragraphs," Reagan said. "They are the basic building block of expository writing. The qualities of well-written paragraphs are also universal concepts in writing — in other words, writing clear paragraphs, clear sections and clear articles all have the same qualities. And well-written paragraphs are probably the least understood concept of clear writing.”

Participants should bring something to write on. A set of handouts with room for taking notes will be provided.
