International Day of Action Against Contract Cheating

Submitted by Camilla Roberts

Wednesday, Oct. 18, is the official International Day of Action Against Contract Cheating. According to contractcheating.com, contract cheating is "the form of academic dishonesty where students get academic work completed on their behalf, which they then submit for academic credit as if they had created it themselves."

Kansas State University's Honor and Integrity System is standing up against contract cheating.

On Wednesday, Oct. 18, come visit the table from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the K-State Student Union to make your own statement about why you are against contract cheating or use the hashtags #defeatthecheat and #excelwithintegrity throughout the day.

Camilla Roberts, director of the Honor and Integrity System, also will lead a brown bag lunch session about what forms of contract cheating have already been found at K-State, what other institutions have seen, and most importantly, how can we as an institution try to curb contract cheating among our students. This session will take place at noon in Room 226 of the K-State Student Union.
