K-State Band concerts Oct. 10-11
The K-State Band program will present concerts in McCain Auditorium on Tuesday, Oct. 10, and Wednesday, Oct. 11. Both concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. and are free to the public.
The K-State Concert Band and Wind Symphony will perform on Tuesday, Oct. 10. Works by Maslanka, Tschesnokoff, Hanson, Standridge, and other contemporary composers will be performed. The Concert Band will be conducted by Director of Bands Frank Tracz as well as graduate students Jay Koupal, Wes Lewis and Andy Tinsman. The Wind Symphony is under the direction of Alex Wimmer, assistant director of bands.
The K-State Wind Ensemble will perform on Wednesday, Oct. 11. They will be joined by the internationally acclaimed trumpet virtuoso Allen Vizzutti, Greg Beyer and Arcomusical, and the K-State Women's Choir. Works by Vizzutti, Beyer, Shotakovich, Ticheli, and Bourgeois will be performed. The Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Tracz.
