K-State student volunteer mentors needed for UFM Teen Mentoring Program

Submitted by Kayla Savage

If you are interested in working with youth, the UFM Teen Mentoring Program is offering a great volunteer opportunity for fall 2017.

Volunteer mentors and students in grades 7-12 meet weekly after school from 3-5 p.m. at the UFM Community Learning Center and offsite locations. Activities are planned each week to provide guidance and build relationships through discussion, games, food and fun activities. The purpose of the program is to provide a safe, healthy and supportive atmosphere for learning and navigating adolescence with others in a group setting.

High school students and middle school students meet on different days. For fall 2017, high school students meet on Mondays and Tuesdays from Sept. 11 through Nov. 28 and middle school students meet on Thursdays from Sept. 14 through Nov. 30.
