Submitted by Noelle Blood

Kimathi Choma, assistant dean for diversity, recruitment and retention in the College of Arts and Sciences, and Tosha Sampson-Choma, assistant professor of English, were recently presented with a Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award from their alma mater, Messiah College.

The Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award recognizes a lifetime of vocational achievement in a manner that embodies the mission of Messiah College, including modeling faithful Christian leadership in all endeavors.

"Since leaving Messiah, Kimathi and Tosha have had the opportunity to serve students on several different campuses," said Jay McClymont, director of alumni and parent relationships at Messiah College. "They encourage students academically, professionally, and spiritually. The seeds of service and leadership planted in their hearts as students have continued to grow and flourish throughout their continued education and various professional milestones."

Choma received his Bachelor of Science in biology with a pre-veterinary designation from Messiah, and Sampson-Choma received her Bachelor of Arts in English. Both have since acquired multiple graduate degrees.

Messiah College is a nationally ranked, private Christian college located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
