Academic Assistance Center changes name to Academic Achievement Center

Submitted by RJ Youngblood

AAC wordmark

Effective May 8, the Academic Assistance Center will be renamed the Academic Achievement Center.

In spring 2016, the Student Success Workgroup recommended changes to encourage collaboration among campus partners and to reimagine how the Academic Assistance Center could strengthen and increase opportunities for student success. To continue with these efforts to engage students, the center's students and staff worked to develop rebranding options, which included changing the word "assistance" to "achievement."

This name change indicates a continued commitment to students and is in line with the center's goals to support all forms of student success. The new name conveys a positive message embracing possibility and shows that the center is equipped to work with a range of students. This name captures the Academic Achievement Center's mission of engaging with students and campus partners, equipping students with tools and resources, and empowering them to envision and achieve success.

The center is currently working to update the name in all print and digital communications.

For more information, visit the Academic Achievement Center in 101 Holton Hall, call 785-532-6492, visit its website or follow the center on Twitter at @kstateaac.
