Don't miss your chance to participate in the Innovation and Economic Prosperity designation process

Submitted by Sarah Hancock

A required self-study for K-State to attain the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities designation as an Innovation and Economic Prosperity university is well underway. Last week, President Richard Myers and Vice President for Research Peter Dorhout held the first of two open forums to solicit feedback from internal and external stakeholders. The forum provided great feedback. Thanks to all who attended.

Stakeholder input and involvement is critical to the success of obtaining the Innovation and Economic Prosperity designation. A survey and another open forum offer more opportunities for feedback. The 15-minute survey closes Feb. 13, so there's still time to participate. A second open forum is from 4-6 p.m. Monday, March 6, in the Seminar Room at the Manhattan/K-State Innovation Center, 2005 Research Park Circle. Please register to attend. Email Kiley Moody at kmoody@k-state.edu if you have questions.

Designation as an Innovation and Economic Prosperity institution will allow K-State to join an elite group of only 60 institutions across the country and will serve as a valuable process and step toward achieving our goal of becoming a Top 50 Public Research Institution. The designation could result in additional state and federal funding opportunities and affords K-State the opportunity to better communicate all of the many ways economic engagement occurs as a result of faculty, staff, students, programs, centers and institutes at K-State.
Your support and feedback during this process is greatly appreciated. Read more about the program.
