New medical director joins Lafene Health Center

Submitted by Julie Gibbs

Dr. James Guest, a physician, has joined Lafene Health Center as new medical director. Guest has more than 15 years of college health experience, as he has previously served as director of the University Health Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.

He is board certified in pediatrics and earned his medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine.

"I am ecstatic Dr. Guest has joined our medical staff," said Jim Parker, Lafene Health Center director. "He brings incredible experience and leadership in many areas that Lafene is moving toward."

Guest brings extensive knowledge about college health issues, student health and wellness and student development. In his role as medical director, he will primarily provide direct supervision for Lafene's team of physicians and advanced practice clinicians. In addition to his managerial duties, Guest will serve on various advisory committees and provide direct patient care to students.

Guest emphasizes the importance of customer service excellence in healthcare, and has the following written on his wall, "Our mission is to support student success by providing students with timely, quality health care and information."

Guest is happy to be on the Lafene Health Center team, is enjoying the Manhattan community and likes wearing purple.

If you have any questions about Guest, please call Lafene Health Center at 785-532-7755 or lafene@k-state.edu
