Diversity and inclusion in the workplace panel

Submitted by Monica Macfarlane

The political science department invites you to learn about diversity management in the public sector from local practitioners during its diversity and inclusion in the workplace panel at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, in 227 K-State Student Union.

This panel will provide an opportunity to interact with local practitioners as they discuss the ways their organization addresses the topic of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and how their knowledge and experiences regarding diversity management help to improve social equity and organizational effectiveness.

Panelists include: Mirta Chavez, director of multicultural programs and services in the Office of Diversity; Aaron Sauerwein, associate director of the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance; and Cathy Harmes, director of human resources for the city of Manhattan.

Come discover how a career in public service can affect changes in providing public services to a diverse population.
