Call for Research and the State abstracts for graduate student poster competition

Submitted by Kelsey Peterson

Graduate students are invited to submit abstracts about their research to the Graduate School by 11:59 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23. The abstracts need to be written in a way that students and faculty from a variety of academic disciplines and the general public can understand, with a length of no more than 250 words.

The Research and the State poster competition, scheduled for Nov. 2 in the K-State Student Union's courtyard, is a great opportunity for K-State graduate students to present their research or scholarly work with the campus community.

The top 10 presenters will be selected to represent K-State at the annual Capitol Graduate Research Summit in spring 2017 at the Capitol building, where graduate students present their posters and discuss the implications their work has on issues in the state of Kansas. Presenters interact with state legislators, members of the Kansas Board of Regents and the public.

The Writing Center at K-State is an excellent resource to help develop and prepare your abstract.
