Entomology professor receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Dr. Mike Smith

C. Michael Smith, professor of entomology, was selected by members of the International Plant Resistance to Insects working group as the 2016 recipient of the group's Lifetime Achievement Award for his notable contributions to the fields of plant resistance and entomology. Smith received this award on March 7 in Stellenbosch, South Africa, during the 22nd annual International Plant Resistance to Insects Symposium.

The International Plant Resistance to Insects working group is a global affiliation of researchers and practitioners who are advancing the development and use of plants with resistance to insects and other arthropod pests.
