Free tax help available from K-State student volunteers

Submitted by Jennifer Wilson

Still need to file your 2015 income taxes? The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program sponsored by K-State Research and Extension, Riley County, is here to help.

Certified K-State student and community volunteers can assist with simple 1040 tax returns for those with a household income of $54,000 or less. This free service is available to faculty, staff and students and will be available April 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14 at the Manhattan Public Library.

Appointments are required and can be made by calling 785-565-6426 or emailing vitataxes@gmail.com

Volunteers cannot prepare military, international student or itemized returns. The event also is sponsored by the Manhattan Public Library and the IRS.
