K-State's CARE staff participates in collaborative event in Aggieville April 9

Submitted by Jessica Haymaker

K-State's Center for Advocacy Response and Education, CARE, staff is partnering with the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention, SHARP, program to observe Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The event will engage the community in conversation about the reality of sexual assault, sexual harassment and rape. The collaborative event will be from 6-10 p.m. April 9 in Aggieville near the corner of 12th Street and Moro Street.

All factions of our community, whether military, K-State, or Manhattan-affiliated, are affected by or know someone who is affected by this societal issue.

Both programs will staff a booth with giveaways and ways for community members to become engaged in preventing sexual violence. Stop by the booth to sign a pledge and to engage in conversation.
