Planning for 2025: College of Business Administration selects Andrus to direct research efforts

An experienced researcher will be the director of research in the College of Business Administration at Kansas State University.

David Andrus, professor of marketing and College of Business Administration faculty fellow, has been appointed by Ali Malekzadeh, Edgerley family dean of the college, to this newly created position.

"I am pleased to appoint Dr. Andrus to this very important position in the College of Business Administration. It is one that will become a major component of our college's plan for meeting K-State's goal of becoming a top 50 public research university through K-State Vision 2025," Malekzadeh said. "Dr. Andrus is an extremely accomplished researcher, and I am confident that he will lead our faculty to become prolific in their research."

Andrus is charged with increasing the scholarly focus of the college. He will chair the college's research committee, provide enhancement opportunities to increase and improve faculty research, and provide leadership to enhance student research. The appointment starts Feb. 1.

"The CBA faculty is a community of highly talented scholars dedicated to creating and disseminating new knowledge through cutting-edge research in top-tier journals and conferences," Andrus said. "Dean Malekzadeh's leadership has invigorated the focus on research. This will also build a stronger learning environment for students, contribute to economic development in Kansas and further improve on the high employment rate for our graduates. I'm honored to be selected as a leader in this process."

Andrus has been published in numerous journals, including the International Marketing Review, the Journal of Marketing Management, CPA Journal and the Journal of Consumer Marketing. His areas of teaching include marketing research, and marketing management.
