'Skins' film screening today

Submitted by Cindi Morris

In conjunction with the Beach Museum of Art's exhibition "Earth and Loom: A Century of Native American Art," the museum will screen the film "Skins" at 6 p.m. Oct. 30 at the museum.

Filmmaker Chris Eyre, who directed the independent success story "Smoke Signals" — one of the first motion pictures directed by, written by and starring Native American talent — offers another look at contemporary Native American culture. "Skins" is a hard-hitting drama starring Eric Schweig and Graham Greene as brothers living on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in the South Dakota. The film is rated R.
