The Kansas State University Percussion Studio will feature the world premier performance of Jason Treuting's "Amid the Noise" at 1 p.m. April 13 in Kirmser Hall.

Performed by percussion sextet and bass guitar, the piece is a patient study of musical spaces that is meant to engulf the audience in a multitude of sights and sounds. The advanced digital media class through the art department is designing videos to complement each movement, and the performance will utilize 5.1 surround sound.

Not only has the composer worked closely with the group throughout the process, but he also will be in attendance at the performance.

"Amid the Noise" creates a restful, meditative environment in an audio-visual spectacle that you don't want to miss.
