Office 365 update

Submitted by Ken Stafford

After seven months of planning and testing, we have the entire campus of 57,000 accounts moved to Office 365 for email and calendaring service. Over the weekend, information technology services, migrated the final 17,000 student accounts and more than 6,100 faculty and staff email and calendar accounts.

The majority of questions to the IT Help Desk and our client services teams have been about configuring mobile devices, downloading the Outlook Client, and assisting users with sharing calendars and folders. Search the knowledge base for articles on these topics and more.

We are continuing to troubleshoot several issues including:

  • migrating data into folders that didn’t move during the weekend transition
  • the ability to edit some calendar appointments that were migrated

Thanks go to our system administrators and many others from around campus who worked with information technology services for a smooth transition. We know that many faculty and staff have yet to return to campus and we are preparing to support their email and other computing needs in the coming weeks.

Thank you for your patience as we work to continually improve email and calendaring services for campus. If you have questions, please contact the IT Help Desk at 785-532-7722, post a ticket via servicedesk.ksu.edu, or join the Office 365 Migration Yammer group.
