Two candidates will interview for the position of associate provost for international programs

Submitted by Suzy Auten

Two candidates will be interviewed for the position of associate provost for international programs at Kansas State University. Tim de Noble, dean of K-State's College of Architecture, Planning & Design and chair of the search committee, said the finalists are: Nina Lilja, director of international agricultural programs at Kansas State University; and Marcelo Sabates, interim associate provost for international programs at Kansas State University.

"This internal search has produced two well-qualified candidates and we are fortunate to have their interest in serving the university in this leadership position," de Noble said.

April Mason, provost and senior vice president, said, "This position is critically important to realizing our strategic planning goal of internationalizing our campus. The next associate provost for international programs will provide leadership and insight in preparing our students to feel comfortable working and living abroad; preparing our faculty for international research; and strengthening our international education efforts."

The public forum for both candidates is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in the Big 12 Room at the K-State Student Union. Each candidate will have 30 minutes to speak and 30 minutes for questions from those in attendance.

For those unable to attend in person, the presentations will be streamed live and archived for viewing later. The link for the public forum will be activated just before the scheduled start time and will be posted on the provost’s website along with the full schedules and application materials for each candidate.
