New Faculty Institute barbeque luncheon on Sept. 20 to feature President Schulz

Submitted by Esther Swilley

As part of our welcome to K-State, the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning invites all new faculty to the New Faculty Institute Kickoff luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20 in the Flint Hills Room of the K-State Student Union.

Our theme, 2025: Goal Setting for a Great Future, will be highlighted by our speakers, President Kirk Schulz, Associate Provost Brian Niehoff and Vice Provost Ken Stafford. This luncheon provides new — and fairly new — faculty the opportunity to learn more about the 2025 initiative and what it takes for them to have a great future here at K-State.

The New Faculty Institute is a universitywide program to introduce newly hired faculty to our missions of teaching, research and service, and to facilitate their success at K-State. The New Faculty Institute will offer information, networking, training, and peer mentoring. The institute facilitates the transition of newly-hired faculty members into the K-State academic environment by providing information and tools that can help them become successful as educators and researchers at the university. Each month the institute offers social luncheons filled with information, socializing and food.

The New Faculty Institute is open to all faculty who started in 2012 and 2013.

For more information, contact Esther Swilley, New Faculty Institute coordinator, at esthers@k-state.edu, or Jana Fallin, Center for Teaching and Learning director, at 785-532-7828.

Please RSVP by Wednesday, Sept. 18, by clicking here.

We look forward to seeing you!
