University Transportation Center wins award

Kansas State University's Annual Kansas Transportation Engineering Conference has received the University Professional and Continuing Education Association Central Region's 2013 Mature Noncredit Program Award. The award will be presented at the association's Central Region Conference, Sept. 25-27, in Minneapolis, Minn.

The citation recognizes the annual Kansas Transportation Engineering Conference for providing transportation engineering experts from across the state, region and nation the opportunity to collaborate and discuss moving the Kansas transportation industry forward. The conference, sponsored by the University Transportation Center at K-State, plays a leading role in development and communication surrounding transportation trends and innovation.

The University Transportation Center is a research organization dedicated to bringing together transportation professionals, educators, and researchers to identify and solve transportation problems. Center director is Robert Stokes, civil engineering professor and interim department head.
