Web-based on-demand training

Submitted by Gina Lowe

Last fall, the Division of Human Resources conducted a training needs assessment survey and over 60% (861) of the respondents expressed interest in web-based on-demand training.  We are pleased to announce the State of Kansas has contracted with MindLeaders, a learning and talent development company with over 25 years of experience in developing interactive, self-paced online training.  There are over 700 MindLeaders online Business Courses available ranging from software skills training, such as Microsoft Office training, to developing personal skills and leadership skills such as Time Management, Persuasive Verbal Communication, Customer Service, and Building Excellence in Employees.  A listing of the Business Courses is located on the Human Resources website.  In addition, they offer online training in other areas such as technical courses from Ajax to Java to SQL and they have eBooks with full-text electronic versions of over 1,800 business, software, and technical titles.  Interactive, online training is an excellent, low-cost way to allow employees to remain on the cutting edge in a rapidly evolving environment.

The current cost for a one year Business Course license is only $17.80 per person.  During the license year, an employee may take as many courses as desired.  Since the courses are available online, they are available 24/7 for the employee's convenience.  Prices for other products are listed on the Purchase Order for MindLeaders which can be found at Human Resources Training website.  If you have questions about getting started with MindLeaders, please contact Gina Lowe at 785-532-1878 or by email.
