Swanson expanding duties at prestigious summer program

A Kansas State University management professor has been asked to expand her teaching duties at a prestigious summer program for executive education offered on the Dartmouth College campus.
Diane Swanson, Edgerley family chair in business administration at the College of Business Administration, will again teach at the Graduate School of Credit and Financial Management. Sponsored by the National Association of Credit Management, the program has been in place for 70 years.
Swanson, who has been teaching in the program since 2004, serves as the ethics professor and designed the curriculum, Ethics in Business and Society, which she teaches using case studies. Her students are senior credit managers -- including division directors and vice presidents -- from major corporations around the world.
This summer her teaching duties and contract were expanded to include ethics and strategic management. Her classes will run June 22-25. Students and faculty live on campus during the program and interact in work sessions inside and outside the classroom.

At K-State, Swanson teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in business and society and professional ethics. She is also the founding chair of the college's Business Ethics Education Initiative, which has received international acclaim. Her record includes publishing widely on business ethics, corporate social responsibility, value-based leadership and organizational dynamics; serving on top-ranked editorial boards; holding governing positions in academic associations; and interviewing frequently with the media.
