Human capital assessment materials available; feedback needed from campus community

Submitted by Kirk Schulz

Dear K-State Faculty and Staff:

We are pleased to make available to the campus community the Human Capital Services Assessment Report and PowerPoint slides used during the open forums April 8 and 9.

In August 2012, Kansas State engaged AON Hewitt, a global human capital consulting firm, to perform an overall evaluation and make recommendations for improvement of the university's structure, operations, policies, processes, procedures, practices and services related to the recruitment, development and retention of our human capital. A current state assessment took place from September through December.

The findings of the quantitative and qualitative study were reviewed by a core team of people directly related to human capital processes and an advisory group consisting of representatives from departments and colleges/major units across the university. Both short-term and long-term recommendations are offered in the report.

As with other initiatives, we want the campus community to have the opportunity to comment. View the report and provide your feedback via the Human Capital Services Assessment website.

Your comments and suggestions are welcomed as we work together to ensure appropriate steps be taken regarding our valuable human resources. Following an open comment period of 30 days,  a campus letter addressing next steps will be issued. Thanks go to the core team, advisory team and AON Hewitt for the work they did to complete the assessment. Thanks also to you, the campus community, for participating in both the quantitative and qualitative portions of the assessment. Again, I encourage you to offer your feedback online.

Regards,

Kirk Schulz
