The many sides of John Boyd

By Cindi Morris

The Beach Museum of Art presents James W. Johnson, independent curator, at 5:30 p.m. tonight in the UMB Theater. A reception will follow in UMB foyer.

On display from Friday, March 8, through Sunday, May 26, "Good Boy, Bad Boy: The Prints of John Boyd" captures the humor and darkness of the noted printmaker and papermaker. Johnson will talk about Boyd's exhibition as the 2013 Friends of the Beach Museum of Art gift print artist currently on display in the Wefald Gallery.

The struggle between good and evil is a significant refrain in the artist's work, which demonstrates an impressive versatility and technical complexity. Boyd was an instructor in lithography at Wichita State University from 1972 to 2008.
