Academic progress reports for freshmen
The collection and distribution of academic progress reports are a major part of the university’s efforts to increase student retention. The reports will be collected from teaching faculty who have one or more freshmen enrolled in their course or courses. The reports will be collected electronically via the iSIS system beginning on Monday, Feb. 18. The collection file will remain posted until 5 p.m. Monday, March 4. You must enter your progress reports during this time.
Hopefully, you will have completed a formal assessment by the end of next week. However, whether or not you have completed an assessment, you may assign a “Satisfactory” or “Unsatisfactory” based upon such factors as poor attendance, failure to turn in homework, class participation, etc. For example, if you monitor class attendance and attendance is poor, you may assign an “Unsatisfactory” progress report and cite poor attendance as a reason.
