Wildcat Leadership Challenge

K-State Faculty and Staff:

The School of Leadership Studies is hosting a four-day leadership development experience for current K-State students and needs your assistance. Please send the first and last name of students you would like to nominate to attend to J.R. Love at jrlove@k-state.edu.

Wildcat Leadership Challenge is four-day intensive leadership development experience held each spring at the Rock Springs Retreat Center near Junction City. Participants — the event is open to any K-State student — will engage in both large group and small group environments around topics such as diversity, inclusion, leadership styles, service learning, personal strengths, and adaptive leadership. Participants will be divided into learning communities and will be facilitated by Junior and Senior Expedition Leaders, who will facilitate team building and deeper levels of discussion. The theme for Wildcat Leadership Challenge is “The Courage to Lead.”

Junior Expedition Leaders include: Taylor Poindexter, junior in kinesiology; Pedro Miller, graduate student in school counseling; Belema Iyo, junior in public relations and advertising; Jared Marcuson, junior in secondary education; and John Rosa, sophomore in chemistry and pre-pharmacy.

Senior Expedition Leaders include: Laura Foote, K-State First; Jenni Jones, Greek Affairs; Pedro Espinoza, College of Education; Madaí Rivera, College of Human Ecology; and Travis Redecker, recreational services.

The deadline for applications is Feb. 21. There is a $50 registration fee, and a scholarship is available. Lodging and food will be provided on site at the Rock Springs 4-H Center. Students interested may apply online at the School of Leadership Studies website, http://www.k-state.edu/leadership/programs/leadershipchallenge.html
