Potts presents on Irish literature at Indian universities

Donna Potts, professor of English, gave a series of presentations on Irish literature during a recent trip to India. Potts was hosted by English and Foreign Languages University in Hyderabad, and she also spoke at Osmania University in Hyderabad, with which Kansas State University has an exchange program. Her presentations included:

  • "The Wearing of the Deep Green: Contemporary Irish Poetry and Environmentalism"
  • "At the Movies with Frank McCourt"
  • A poetry reading with the well-known Indian poet Meena Alexander
  • "Sex in a Cold Climate: Ireland's Magdalene Laundries and Sexual Violence," followed by a discussion of the recent rape case of a student in New Dehli, as well as Potts' work on rape awareness.
