Commerce Bank Presidential Awards for Distinguished Service to Minority Students

By Karla Camacho-Godoy

The Commerce Bank Presidential Faculty/Staff Award for Distinguished Services to Minority Students was established in 1978 to recognize outstanding individual contributions to the development of quality education for students of color at Kansas State University.

This year’s recipient of the Faculty/Staff Award is Kay Ann Taylor, associate professor of curriculum and instruction in the College of Education. This year’s student award winner is Angela Muhwezi, senior in biology and pre-dentistry.

The Commerce Bank Presidential Student Award for Distinguished Services in enhancing Multiculturalism at Kansas State University was established in the spring of 1997 to recognize outstanding individual contributions to diversity enhancement within the student sector.

Please join us in recognizing the recipients of the 2012-2013 Commerce Bank presidential awards for diversity excellence. The honorees will be recognized at a reception from 3:30-5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, in the K-State Alumni Center. This year’s program will mark the 35th year of the awards.
