University Life Café -- a website designed entirely by K-State students to promote emotional wellness that can lead to personal and academic success -- will host its fifth annual University Life Café Art Contest exhibition in the K-State Student Union William T. Kemper Art Gallery until Jan. 9, 2013.

Co-sponsored by Union Program Council, the art contest was established for students by students as an outlet to express themselves through the medium of art. Students were asked to submit an image of their artwork to universitylifecafe.org in September and October. The website is a place where students can connect and contribute through discussion boards, a gallery of user-submitted artwork and writings, and a network of mental health professionals.

From the 129 entries submitted, 66 pieces were chosen by a juried art review ranking each piece with a score of one to five with five being the highest. Those pieces scoring 15 or higher qualified to be displayed in the exhibit. The top finalists will win prizes and be featured in the exhibit and on the cafe's website.

The gallery hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. On the first floor of the Union, the Kemper Gallery is free and open to the public. For rules and more information, visit universitylifecafe.org.
