An expert in human resource management and entrepreneurship will lead the last seminar of the Fall 2012 Corporate Entrepreneurship and Innovation Series, a part of the College of Business Administration's Professional Education Seminars at Kansas State University Olathe.

James Hayton, a professor of human resource management and entrepreneurship at the Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom, will present "Building Entrepreneurial Capabilities Within Your Organization: The Role of the HR Function" from 2-6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at the International Animal Health and Food Safety Institute on the K-State Olathe campus, 22201 W. Innovation Drive, Olathe.

Hayton is a leader in human resource management education, leading executive education seminars in Europe. He also is an editor or editorial board member of several human resource management journals, including serving as editor-in-chief of Human Resource Management, the only human resource management journal ranked in the Financial Times' Top 40.

Seminar registration is $100 for individual registrants, or $75 per person for three or more participants from the same organization. Registration deadline is Thursday, Dec. 6. To register, visit http://www.cba.k-state.edu/ProfessionalEducation.

The seminar will give attendees an understanding of the strategic importance of hiring and developing innovative and entrepreneurial employees in any organization, and the tools to develop recruiting and selection programs, insight on developing creative and motivated employees, as well as a strategic perspective on building the entrepreneurial organization.

The seminar is approved for two Society of Human Resource Management credits, and is preapproved by the HR Institute for two reaccreditation credits. Entry and mid-career professionals in human resources and management and entrepreneurs will take most advantage of the seminar.

The College of Business Administration's Professional Education Series will continue in early 2013 at K-State Olathe with a series of seminars on finance, and in the summer with an entrepreneurship boot camp.
