Flutist, inspirational speaker to perform Nov. 28

Submitted by Georgia Perez

The Native American Student Association present Terry Whetstone, Cherokee flutist, artist and inspirational speaker, and Sister Virginia Pearl, Citizen Potawatomi Nation Elder, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the K-State Student Union Little Theatre.

It is open to students, who may come and go as their classes permit.

Flute music by Whestone will begin at 1:30 p.m. to introduce Pearl's talk at 2:30 p.m. Whestone will have some of his CDs available after the talk.

Pearl will be speaking on her family heritage as her great-grandmother was on the forced march to Kansas along the Potawatmoi Trail of Death. A question-and-answer session will follow.

Also, save the date: Nov. 30 is Native American Heritage Day in the Union courtyard.
