A message from Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Bryan Samuel

Submitted by Bryan Samuel

Colleagues,

I hope you all had an opportunity to attend our second KSUnite. It was a great event, full of rich information, dialogue and discussion on numerous topics of diversity and inclusion. The student speakers were outstanding and Dr. Bernard Franklin delivered a very moving keynote address. I wish to thank the K-State community for a wonderful KSUnite.

At this time, I write to inform and invite all faculty, staff and graduate students to continue participating in the diversity and inclusion dialogue at the state level, via attendance at the 2018 Michael Tilford Conference on Diversity and Multiculturalism.

The conference will be Oct. 22-23 at Fort Hays State University. Registration is now open and the conference is free for K-State faculty, staff and graduate students, paid by the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President. This year's theme is "Creating a Culturally Competent Campus."

If you are interested in attending, please register at fhsu.edu/tilfordconference/conference-registration.

It is my understanding that K-State normally has a great representation at the Michael Tilford Conference and it is my hope that this trend can continue. More information about the conference can be found at fhsu.edu/tilfordconference.

With Purple Pride,

Dr. Bryan D. Samuel, CCDP/AP
Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer
