The mathematics department's Math Circle Seminar will host the International Math Kangaroo Competition on March 21, 2019. Registration is available until Dec. 15 — or while the space at K-State center is available — at the competition's website

More than 29,000 students participated in the competition last year, 50 students took the test at K-State's center in 2019, and seven of these students were recognized as all-national or all-state winners.

The competition is open to all students in grades 1-12. The 75-minute test is offered in 12 levels that correspond to school grade levels. Twenty-four questions are offered to students in grades 1-4 and 30 questions to students in grades 5-12. The challenging competition questions are selected by the International Math Kangaroo committee.

Each student will receive a competition booklet, T-shirt, certificate of participation and gift. Students who earn top scores at each level of participation will be awarded gold, silver or bronze medals. Also, in each participating state, first-, second- and third-place winners will be recognized at each level. Winners will be announced in May 2019.
