Stop the Bleed Training offered Sept. 26

Representatives of the Kansas State University Police Department will teach students, faculty and staff specific lifesaving bleeding control skills. Stop the Bleed training, EHS101, will be offered from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, in the Edwards Hall commons area.
No matter how rapid the arrival of professional emergency responders, bystanders will always be first on the scene. A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes, therefore, it is important to quickly stop the blood loss. Those nearest to someone with life-threatening injuries are best positioned to provide first care. According to a recent National Academies of Science study, trauma is the leading cause of death for Americans under age 46. Stop the Bleed training teaches you proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use your hands, dressings, and tourniquets to save someone's life or your own.
To register for these sessions, you can either sign up through HRIS self-service or send an email to learning-develop-hr@k-state.edu. When sending an email, please include your name, employee ID, and the course title specifying the date.
